[It is a resin 120mm figure that came in about 15 pieces]

I call this piece the unknown warrior because we don't know much of anything about him.   Travis picked it out of the discount bin at the local hobby store, and he came in an unmarked black box with no instructions.   We do know that it is a resin 120mm figure.   It came in about 15 pieces, all resin except for the gun, ammo pouches and other gear that were cast in white metal.   The quality of the parts casting was all pretty good.

[Travis is our 12 year old junior member.]

Before I continue, let me tell you about Travis.   He is our junior member and is 12 years old.   This is his first large-scale figure, and first resin kit too.   He told me that he liked doing this figure all right, but that is favorite thing to build is armor.   "Tanks are cool!" he says.   I can't agree more!

[The joint between the torso and the legs was particularly troublesome.]

Being his first resin kit, I asked him if he learned anything.   He responded instantly, "Yea, it's a lot more work!"   He said that it took more sanding and fitting and general clean up to get the resin parts to fit together evenly.   The joint between the torso and the legs was particularly troublesome, and required some high-powered grinding to get the pieces to fit.   The rest was pretty easy after that.

[The figure was painted with Tamiya acrylics.]

The figure was painted with Tamiya acrylic bottle, and lacquer spray.   He followed this with a heavy wash on all of the metal parts.   There were no decals.   To get a snow effect, he sprayed flat white on the base and feet, from a can held far away, to just get a misting.
