IPMS Motor City Kids Club

The IPMS Motor City Kids Club is a free model-building club for boys and girls ages 8-16.

Members of IPMS Livonia will teach kids how to assemble, paint, and detail plastic models: Cars, planes, ships, robots, etc.  We supply building supplies and paint, and your first model as well.

Parents are required to attend, and encouraged to help their child build.  But many kids enjoy working alone, or in the company of the other kids, as their skills grow.

The Motor City Kids Club has received great support from local hobby shops, including Nankin Hobby and Model Cave, who have both offered discounts to club members.

Meetings:
Held in Fall and Winter (October to March)
Saturday mornings
10am-12pm
Location:
St. Paul Lutheran Church and School
Room #3
201 Elm Street
Northville MI  48167

IPMS Livonia member Bob Blevins originally founded the “Kid’s Club” in 2007.  The IPMS Motor City Kids officially became a Junior Chapter of IPMS USA in 2014.  Bob ran the club for 11 great years, and introduced scores of kids to the modeling hobby.

Currently, IPMS Livonia member Simon Bennett is leading the next iteration of the Motor City Kids Club, with a group of volunteers from the Livonia club.
