Monthly Meeting – February 2019

Our February meeting took place on a blustery winter evening, and the members who stayed home in front of the fireplace missed out on a great meeting!

Erik Hjelmberg gave a great demo of his Photon resin-based 3D Printer.  Many of the members had never seen a 3D printer up close, so it was fun to see and ask questions about.   Erik discussed chemicals used, costs, drying methods, and rates of successful prints.

Erik also had a bunch of printed examples, and described how he and Brian F. would create masters, then clean and modify the masters to make rubber molds for production.

And finally, he gave us a peek at some of the software he uses, and how the software gets loaded and interpreted by the printer.

Thanks for the demo, Erik!

In February, we also held our (intentionally late) Christmas Party.  There was plenty of fun with good food, lots of laughs, a giant raffle, and the selection of the Model(s) of the Year.

Congrats to Travis Blevins for his Vandus Hammerhand figure, and junior Robert Helms for his German Officer bust.
