Monthly Meeting – July 2019

Our July meeting took place on a mild summer evening, with lighter-than-usual attendance.  But we still had 7 models on the table for our Model-of-the-Month contest, and we had two new visitors!  Welcome, Jeff and Pete!

Jeff told us that it was the variety of subjects on our Facebook page that prompted him to come check out (and join) our club!

Tonight we tried something new:  In order to maintain attention to the Model-of-the-Month presenter, and to dissuade distracting side-discussions, we implemented a 3-minute timer.  Hopefully, three minutes is enough time to describe your model and allow time for the other presenters.  Not everyone was able to trim their stories.  Luckily, we had Rudy on hand to plop the tell-tale timer on the display table.  Did it work out?  For the most part, yes.  Hopefully, it will bring awareness and keep the discussions moving when we have another night with 18 models on the table.

This month’s Model-of-the-Month winner is Tim Howell!  Check out Tim’s modified 1/35th Fast Attach Vehicle from Hobby Boss.  Tim scratch-built gel type batteries , modified the engine intake and exhaust, wired EVERYTHING, and added Verlinden extras.
