With some Covid19 public meeting restrictions back in place, we were unable to meet face-to-face in August. But we were able to hold an online Zoom meeting. Thanks to the 11 members who showed up, as well as the mysterious unknown guest “T”.
The demo for tonight was a slideshow seminar from IPMS USA entitled “What Judges Look For.” This presentation included a number of slides showing common build errors, alignment problems, or other issues that will jump out to a trained judge. Aircraft, Armor and Ships were highlighted. You can check out a PDF of the presentation for yourself here. (Hint: It’s saved in portrait orientation, and may not appear correctly when you open it. Your PDF viewer should let you rotate the document clockwise or counter-clockwise.)
Several of our members are accomplished judges themselves, and were able to offer additional tips and clarification. It opened up a nice round-table discussion as we moved through the slides.
John P. had a few questions about his most recent build, and we were able to share his pics with the members for some constructive criticism. And over-all we agreed it was a nice looking piece. Well done, John. You can find John’s build and other works-in-progress on our Facebook Build Day page.
Thanks to everyone who participated.
We’ll see you in September with our Model-of-the-Month contest! And we also be accepting nominations for officers for the 2021-2022 season.
