In July, we were able to hold a face-to-face meeting again at the Pierson Center. Everyone had a mask, and kept their social distance. Thanks to everyone who made it out, and followed the rules. This helps the nice people at the Peirson Center, and it helps our members out too.
In addition to the normal club business, Commodore Kris gave us a synopsis of his Fun Run at the Cabela’s pond in Dundee, MI. Members of the Maumee Valley Model Boat Club and the Michigan Scale Model Boat Club took part with remote-control and sail craft, which included a steam ship and a working submarine! They had a great turnout with over 30 ships on the water. Well done, Kris.
July was a Model-of-the-Month night, and we had a respectable 14 entries from 16 members! This was pretty good, considering we didn’t know how many people would be comfortable showing up to a meeting at all.
(Secretary’s Note: On first count of the ballots, we had several tie scores. But after evaluating the rules on how to address ties, I have recalculated the results, and we have clear winners.)
This month’s winner was Chaz’ ME Bf 109 G-6. It looked great on the table! Well done, Chaz!
