We wrapped up another virtual meeting in September with thirteen members logging in.
September was a Model-of-the-Month night. There were twelve entries this month, with a lot of nice builds. We presented the models in a private page here on our website so that members could vote. But you can now check out the complete gallery here. Hopefully, members, you were able to successfully log in and vote. If you have run into any issues, please get with Albert so we can make it easier for everyone to participate.
Erik Hjelmberg was our winner this month, with his Zvesda Panzer 38(T). It’s a really nice build in 1/100, with a handsome scratch-built base.
Erik is currently the top contender for the Modeler-of-the-Year. You can check out the full current standings here.
Birth Year Build-Off
Randy and Chris have put together an idea for a mini-contest for our members: The Birth Year Build-Off. Build a model that has some sort of connection with your birth year, to be built in a two-month time frame, October and November 2020. You can find more info on our Home page, or on our Facebook Build page.
Oil Slicks and Water
At one point, the Fabrizio asked about simulating oil slicks, or doing a puddle effect.
Erik whipped these up quickly so you can see the results!
Got some cool links you’d like to share? Let us know!
Don’t forget we’re accepting nominations for club officers at our next meeting. Come join us if you think you’d like to be a part of the club leadership.
